Born in the east end of London, 1966, I'd spent my childhood creating by any means necessary. When my interview with the careers officer came round she looked at my grades and decided I should have a white collar. So I went to work in the city of London. I've had a camera for as long as I can remember but mine is a story of 'riches to rags' (and halfway back)! I was never formerly taught photography. Like many of the great photographers that I aspire to it was a case of trial and error! Around 15 years ago I took a course in Black & White Photography while I was doing a degree in Graphic Design & Communication. This helped me to look at my photography in a more professional and critical fashion. My first published image was of US R&B singer Brandy for a music magazine titled Touch. I was still working in the city as an Aviation broker so what I got paid for film and processing didn't even add up to lunch! Nevertheless I was the happiest man in the world. I started to think I could actually pull it off and become a photographer! So around 11 years ago I hung up my suit and tie and slipped into something more comfortable. It will be the last suit I'll ever wear. I started working in music for various titles, and then came fashion. Working these areas became relatively easy for me as I come from a large family and knowing your way around the various egos personalities is the best choice for survival. I suppose it took a while for the Architectural/interior to take off because it was harder to treat this as work. I've loved architecture even before what I knew what it was. To understand a buildings purpose I feel you have to acknowledge its shape and the way it lets in and holds light. This is basically how I see everything whether it be a person, landscape or object.
